Start here: how this course works

Pete Stevenson, founder of Evolvv Strategies

Hi, I’m Pete — welcome 👋

I’ve spent nearly twenty years building and selling companies, leading teams, and consulting for hundreds of founders — and the thing that surprised me most is how few of the problems are new. The same handful of constraints keep showing up in different clothes. So I wrote this short course to answer the question I get asked more than any other: “I’m working flat out and growth still won’t move — what am I actually supposed to fix first?” There is usually one answer at any given time, and it’s findable.

This course takes you from guessing to a named fix: by the end you’ll have run a diagnostic on your own business, and you’ll have a short, prioritized list of real changes instead of a pile of notes. No marketing background, no tech background, nothing you can’t use by Friday. And no buzzwords — if I use a term like “the bottleneck” or “speed-to-lead,” I define it in plain English the first time and then use it like a normal person. If anything here reads like a brochure, I got lazy; call me on it.

One thing worth knowing up front: I wrote every lesson here. Four of them also carry a hand-picked video — the places where watching someone do it beats reading about it, like seeing an automation actually get built. This is a short course, so videos are the exception rather than the spine. Each one is by an independent creator and is credited with a link to their channel; go give them a follow.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth about growth

Growth rarely stalls because you aren’t working hard enough. You’re working plenty hard. It stalls because of structure — one constraint somewhere in the business that caps everything downstream of it. Add more leads to a business with a broken follow-up system and you don’t get more customers. You get more leads you ignore.

So the move isn’t “do more.” It’s find the one thing holding the rest back, fix it, then find the next one. That’s the entire idea behind this course — and behind how we work at Evolvv.

What you’ll walk away with

Not another framework to file away. Six specific abilities, each one attached to a decision you can make this week:

The real bottleneck, named

Tell the loud symptom apart from the one constraint that caps everything downstream — with a 10-minute diagnostic that names yours.

One sentence that lands

What you do, said so a stranger gets it in five seconds and the right buyer thinks “that’s me.”

Found when buyers ask AI

The handful of moves that get you named in an AI answer, not just ranked on Google.

Follow-up that runs itself

The five predictable leaks plugged: a fast first reply, a five-touch sequence, and a standing ask for reviews and referrals.

AI on the busywork

The jobs today’s AI agents genuinely do well for an owner-led business — and the napkin math to judge one before you pay for it.

Assets in your own name

Your domain, your data, your content, your accounts — owned by you, so the next vendor is replaceable.

How this course works

Six short modules, in the order you’d actually do the work: one diagnosis, then five fixes, each closing a specific leak. Every module is a sharp read plus one thing you actually do, and each hands back something concrete — a named constraint, a written sentence, a live sequence, a checklist. This is the spine — we’ll end on the same picture:

1Find the bottleneckStop fixing the wrong thing
2Clarify the messageSay it in one sentence a stranger gets
3Fix the follow-upPlug the leaks where leads escape
4Use AI practicallyAutomate the busywork, keep the judgment
5Build for ownershipOwn the assets before a vendor owns you

Go in order — they build. But if one module is screaming your name, start there. It’s your business.

It’s written for owner-led businesses of a few people, a few trucks, or a few locations — the kind where one fixed constraint changes your whole week. If you were never trained in marketing or tech because you were busy being good at the actual job, you’re exactly who this is for. You’re not behind; you were working.

How long it takes: six modules, eleven lessons, and about an hour and forty minutes of reading in total — roughly twenty minutes a module. It’s a mini-course on purpose: short enough to finish, long enough to change something. Most owners do one module a sitting, do the action it asks for, and close the laptop. Nothing here expires, and you can jump back to any lesson whenever you want.

What it costs

The course is completely free — no gate, no upsell. And so are most of the fixes: the diagnostic, the one-sentence message, the follow-up sequence, and the ownership checklist cost you an evening, not money. Money only comes up in one place — Module 4, if you decide to put a single AI tool on some of your busywork. That module gives you the test before you commit: hours saved a week × what your time is worth − the tool’s monthly fee (the worked example there uses a $40-a-month tool). Start on a free trial, pick one tool rather than five, and drop it if the math doesn’t hold.

What this course deliberately doesn’t cover

Honesty first: this course fixes your message, your follow-up, your AI leverage, and your ownership — the constraints most owner-led businesses actually hit. It does not teach you how to drive more attention or rebuild a leaky website, because those deserve their own courses and we’ve built them. If your diagnostic in Module 1 lands on Attention, go run paid traffic with Google Ads for Local Firms or Run Your Own Meta Ads. If it lands on Conversion or your site itself, Build a Stunning Website with AI is the one. Come back here for the rest.

One honest promise before we start

Constraint thinking works, but it only pays if you actually make the change. This course can hand you the one fix that matters right now and the words to do it — it can’t make the change for you, and the fix rarely feels dramatic while you’re doing it. It’s usually one small structural thing that quietly raises the ceiling on everything downstream. One action taken beats five noted, every time.

How to get the most out of it

  • Block 20 minutes. Do one module. Do the one action it asks. Then close the laptop.
  • Keep a running note titled “the fix” — one line per module of what you decided to change.
  • Mark each lesson complete as you go (your progress saves on this device).
  • By the end you’ll have a short, prioritized list of real changes — not a pile of notes.
Key takeaways
  • Growth is capped by your single biggest constraint — not your effort.
  • The work is: find the constraint, fix it, repeat. Five modules, five fixes.
  • Every lesson ends with one thing you can actually do this week.
If you get stuck

Not sure this applies to you because you’re “too small” or “too niche”? It applies more, not less. The smaller the team, the more a single fixed constraint changes your whole week. Start with Module 1 — the diagnostic takes ten minutes and usually surprises people.
